Leicester University 10-4 Stamford AFC

Stamford Futsal squad travelled to 'Judge Meadow' for our inaugural Futsal League fixture on Monday evening.

Team Coach Guy Walton commented "our young side with an average of 19 has been thrown into a challenging league with several university squads registered. We are all delighted that our oppositions standard of play is so impressive. It is our intention to challenge our players against technical, tactical and more physically developed opposition."

"We are using Futsal as a vehicle for The Young Daniels to improve their touch, tempo of play and decision making on and off the ball".

Prolific Fans team midfielder Dean Cornish joined a young squad earning praise from the gaffer.

"Dean was drafted into the squad after impressing in fans team games and will be encouraged to add to his debut appearance".

"We recently played Loughborough university, one of the most progressive set ups within the Futsal game. Our relationship with them enforces our approach to players is the correct participation pathway whilst we wait for 'physical load' to compliment our young players ability.

First team squad player Seth Burkett currently studying at Loughborough is recovering well from a serious ankle injury. Seth hopes to return to training for pre season 2012/13.
