Stamford won a fairly one sided game over Goole 1 0, the first half started as a scrappy affair with no clear cut chances until the 13th minute when Sam Mullarkey's snap shot was well saved and held onto by Antoli Pecora with Lee Beeson lurking for any rebounds.
A few minutes later a Beeson cross caused trouble for Goole fortunately for them Charlie Fisher was well placed to head the ball out for a corner with Dan Cotton just behind him.
A long clearance by Mario Ziccardi in the Stamford goal saw Gregg Smiths flick find Sam Mullarkey and his first time shot was only just over.
On 25 minutes Beeson picked the ball up inside his own half and ran unchallenged into the Goole half where he picked out Cotton on the wing and his low cross was met by Mullarkey only for his shot to cannon back out to safety from the post.
Moments later Cotton was again the provider but this time it was Smith with his head in his hands after narrowly missing the target with a header.
It took Goole 36 minutes to have any sort of attack when a mistake by Robbie Maddox at the back saw Derry Robson through on goal only for the striker to make a complete hash of his shot which went well wide of the target.
The second half started much the same as the first with Beeson’s run and shot again spilled by Pecora in goal this time Mullarkey put the ball just wide and minutes later a Danny Brooks corner saw Chris Gray unmarked at the far post only for the skipper to head wide.
A quick throw by Maddox to Mullarkey saw the Daniels striker play Beeson into space his cross was a cracker right onto Smiths head but the big forward was just stretching slightly and his header was clawed out by a flying save from Pecora.
It looked like a goal was going to be hard to come by but on 73 minutes Lee Beeson came up with the finishing touch from a well worked Stamford move. Sam Mullarkey got the ball on the left wing and showed a good touch and a clean pair of heals to his marker to make some space for a cross which was dummied by Chris Gray to Beeson and his side foot shot nearly burst the net.
The lead was nearly double with five minutes left another Beeson cross was met by Jake Gibson only to see his header go agonisingly wide of the post.
Goole’s only other chance of the game came in the final minute when Anthony Bowsley saw his shot go well wide of Ziccardi’s post.
A 1-0 win over an ordinary Goole side where with a bit more luck we could have had five or six on another day.
