Coalville started the game much the stronger team, having played the Daniels already three times and losing three times they looked to be out for some revenge. They should have taken the lead after only five minutes a neat ball through the middle from Callum Woodward split the Daniels defence only for Chris Gumery to shoot well wide with only Ziccardi to beat.
After the first twenty minutes of Coalville pressure the tide began to turn and Stamford got more and more into the game a David Staff cross was met by Danny Brooks only to see his header tipped over the bar by Sean Bowles.
Stamford took the lead on twenty five minutes Adam Hewitt crossed deep to the far post where Bruno Holden headed it back across goal and into the far post for his third goal in three games.
Holden soon made it two just after the half hour mark; Nathan Watson was the provider this time his cross to the far post was once again met by a Holden header this time stooping low to head under the keeper.
Holden could then have had his hat trick this time a Luke Garton cross was headed goal wards but Bowles was equal to it tipping the ball over for a corner. The corner was taken by Watson short to Hewitt he rolled the ball back to Watson to cross in and he found Captain Miles Chamberlain getting into some space to poke the ball home for a rare goal that wasn’t a header.
There could have been a fourth before halftime with Ghislanzoni and Gibson exchanging passes in the middle Gibson’s shot looked to have been blocked by a hand, nothing was given, and Holden’s follow up was saved by the keeper.
Stamford started the second half strong a David Staff cross was deflected by Sean Roulston and very nearly ended up in his own net and a Stamford corner was met by Chamberlain with a towering header that was blocked on the line by a defender.
Coalville took their first goal very well a bad pass from Brooks was intercepted by Ashley Wells and he had a free run at the Daniels defence his cross was met by Gumery sliding in at the far post.
Stamford almost immediately went up the other end and won a corner, this was cleared out to Gibson whose pass found Holden on the edge of the area he made some space and placed a peach of a curler into the far corner of the net for his hat trick.
Coalville got another goal back from a free kick some thirty five yards out Cameron Stuart looked to have mishit his cross and it seemed to catch Ziccardi unaware and somehow managed to creep in this was only to be a consolation as the Stamford held on under the pressure to take all three points with Coalville going home glad to see the back of Stamford for one season.
